Podomatic is a website that hosts FREE podcasts that you can access to use as texts in your classroom, PLUS it gives you an easy to use facility to create your won podcasts either as a teacher for your students to listen to and learn from, or as a class activity.
In the past, I have used podcasting in both ways, but find it most powerful when students are able to decide when and for what purpose a class podcast needs to be made that demonstrates their learning and allows them to share it and receive feedback from others. Giving parents ready access to such podcasts is a great way to encourage parent involvement and bridge the gap between school and home.
